IBA was founded in 1993 by IBM Corp. and two large Belarusian enterprises engaged in the design and production of information technology facilities: NIIEVM - the Computer Research Institute and MPOVT - Computers Production Association.

IBA History
IBA was founded on April 2, 1993 as a three-way partnership between IBM Corp. and two leading Belarusian IT enterprises. In 1999, IBM withdrew as a part owner of IBA, however, remains an IBA’s strategic business partner. The small company eventually evolved into an international alliance with development centers Belarus, the Czech Republic, and Kazakhstan and sales/support offices in Germany, Cyprus, the United States, Russia, Bulgaria, and Kazakhstan. In 2005, following the admittance of the Czech Republic to the European Union, IBA Group relocated its headquarters to Prague.
2012: IBA Group wins European Software Excellence Awards 2012, signs partnership agreement with Splunk

- Installation, networking and integration of banking self-servicing equipment: the 100th ATM has been installed.
- Adaptation, deployment, and preparation procedures for CMMI assessment
- Becoming a full member of the RUSSOFT Software Developers Association
- Creating the Joint Venture "Banking and Financial Telecommunication Network" with the National Bank, Belgazprombank, and IBA CZ as the cofounders
2001: New Office of Technical Center Opened. IBA-Gomel Company Established
- Tower concept implementation forms a pool of experts in specific domains available to customers at all times (SAP-Tower, E-Business-Tower, etc).
- Certification of the Quality Management System for hardware maintenance/repair and banking systems to conform with the National standard STB ISO 9001-2001 and the ISO 9002-94 in the accreditation system of the German Accreditation Association TGA.
- Status of the IBM Best Business Partner in Belarus for the results of cooperation in 2000
- Status of the Philips official distributor
- Diploma for the best exposition at the TIBO’2001 Exhibition
- Establishing IBA-Gomel, opening an office in Gomel
- Opening a new office of the Technical Center
- Close cooperation with the BSU, creating an up-to-date computer class
- Establishing cooperation with Slavneftebank. Project on the development, production and implementation of IBA payment and information terminals
- Certification of personnel for Microsoft, Lotus, IBM, SUN, and Novell product expertise including the e-business sphere
- Increasing services in training: our specialists spread their knowledge of OS/390 and VM/ESA on the territory from the Baltic Sea to Central Asia
- Local network connects almost 1000 workstations
2000: Across All Continents – Penetration to Africa
- First projects for customers in Africa
- About a hundred custom projects implemented for customers in 15 countries
- About 600 software specialists participate in custom-made projects
- Of four IBM JBAW teams, IBA JBAW is the only team to achieve success with Java Component Service
- Java/Advanced Technology Solutions team increased more than three times and includes about 100 specialists at the moment
- Lotus Notes team that has won a top-level reputation in the field includes more than 100 specialists
- The team participating in SAP R/3 projects comprises about 120 specialists
- IBA IT GmbH office opened in Duesseldorf, Germany
1999: ISO 9001 Certification. First E-Business Projects
- IBA Quality System certified for conformity with ISO 9001
- Quality’99 Award of the Belarusian Government for achievements in quality assurance
- About 40 custom projects implemented
- First e-business projects launched
- The World Programming Championship among student teams. IBA sponsored the Belarusian State University team. The team ranked 13th among 62
- IBA CZ office opened in Prague, Czech Republic
1998: More than 30 Projects Implemented. Penetration to Australia & Oceania
- The number of software specialists increased a hundred times
- IBA implemented more than 30 custom projects. Work is underway on the same number of projects
- First project for a customer in New Zealand
- More than 200 JavaBeans developed. AlphaBeans received the “JavaWorld” Award
- Status of IBM OEM Business Partner for S/390 & RS/6000
- Agreement on Cooperation and Establishment of a Common Laboratory was made with the Belarusian State University for Radio Electronics and Information Science
- Penetration to New Zealand, Australia & Oceania
- IBA USA office opened in Melbourne, Florida, USA
- IBA corporate web-server opened – www.iba.by
1997: Numerous Lotus Notes Projects for IBM USA. Penetration to Asia
- The triumphant progress of Lotus Notes team starts. Seven programmers embark on the VM Migration project for IBM USA
- First project for IBM Italy initiated long-term co-operation between the companies
- First project for Customer in Asia, - Malaysia and Kuwait
- Web-server for “JavaBeans Around the World” project opened – java.iba.by
1996: JavaBeans. Projects for IBM USA
- A team of 30 programmers started work on the IBM USA Global Project called "JavaBeans Around the World -JBAW". The project involved teams from Belarus, China, India, and Latvia with IBM USA as coordinator
- CustomPac project is branched to IBM USA
- First SAP R/2 & R/3 projects for US customers
- First Lotus Notes-based project for IBM USA
- Participation in the first IBM SW Procurement Symposium as an impetus to new projects for IBM USA
- IBA received status of Lotus Development Corp. Business Partner
1995: IBM Business Partner. First Project for non-IBM Customer
- IBA received status of IBM Corp. Business Partner in PC, AS/400, RS/6000 and software
- Project for Compuware Corp., USA: development of documentation in Russian for UNIFACE users
- IBA began working on a large IBM-ordered project for the Belarusian National Interbank Settlement System
1994: Large Project for Mainframe Environment
- A team of six programmers embarked on the custom project "Maintenance" for IBM Germany. In the year 2000, the number of programmers involved exceeded 120
- Corporate Computing Center installed on IBM ES/9000, AS/400, and RS/6000 platforms
1993: Getting Started. First Projects for IBM Europe and IBM USA
- Initially, the company employed only four people. The company's head office opened in Minsk
- A pilot custom-made project called MISC was implemented for IBM Europe Marketing Information Support Center
- A project on the localization of OS/2 for IBM USA was launched. The Russified OS/2 Warp product was released in 1996
- A custom-made project CustomPac - for the OS MVS environment - was launched for IBM Germany. The project turned out to be the most protracted. Since 1997 the project was extended to include OS/390 environment
