Case Study: SAP System for the Belarusian Railway
Forwarder Subsystem
At the request of the Belarusian Railway, IBA implemented Forwarder Subsystem that is a part of the integrated SAP system «Cargo Transportation Accounting and Planning» (CTAP). The CTAP is designed to cover all basic and auxiliary business transportation processes and provide operational accounting for the Belarusian Railway.
The Forwarder Subsystem is configured using the following standard SAP modules: ÂÑ, LO, FI, and SD
Basic Features
- Controls the execution of contractual obligations by shipping agencies when providing transit/export/import transportation
- Manages the processing of shipping requests submitted by shipping agencies
- Manages contracts with shipping agencies
- Maintains the rail shipments database
- Calculates cargo transportation costs before a new shipment is initiated
- Maintains personal accounts of forwarding agents
- Generates analytical reports (including reports on traffic flow, tariffs, contract execution, revenues from different transportation sectors, personal accounts of forwarding agents, and cash flow on these accounts).
Results
The advanced technological solutions introduced by IBA allowed for the settlement of critical technical problems of the Belarusian Railway and provided for the reduction of management costs. Following the SAP implementation at the Belarusian Railway, IBA was appointed as SAP Service Partner.
